Announcement of the 2nd Mountain Running Race: The sports and cultural association South Corfu Runners announces the 2nd Mountain Running Race named Arkoudilas Trail 19km 800+, Monastery Run 9km 350+ & Children’s Race 1000m.

Start and finish will be the center of Kavos in the area of South Corfu and just 10 minutes from the port of Lefkimmi.
The date of the race is set for November 24, Sunday and start time 10:00. The race will be held in Arkoudila passing by the monastery, in an area of infinite natural beauty far from human intervention.
The route includes a dirt road, paths and minimal asphalt.
All those who have reached the age of 18 on the day of the race have the right to participate, and in the 2 routes also all those who have reached the age of 15 can run in the 9th race with a responsible declaration of a parent.
There will also be 3 fuel stations at 19km and 1 at 9km.
Full meal after the race, doctor, commemorative medal and commemorative bracelet with the date and name of the race.
The organizers can change-modify the route or even cancel it if this is considered necessary for the safety of the athletes.
Entries will open on 1st September at www.southcorfurunners.com and close on 17th November.

After the above date, registrations for limited places will be made at the points where the numbers of the athletes will be given.
Registration for the Children’s Race will be done at the secretariat, all children will receive a commemorative medal and a t-shirt. Children born before 2008 have the right to participate in the children’s race.

The purpose of the running event is to attract new children to the sport. Also to highlight and protect the ecosystem and beauty of Arkoudila, the area of Kanoulas, the small island, and Agios Gordios, where virgin areas remain with their natural beauty far from human intervention.
