SOUTH CORFU RUNNERS is organizing the 3rd ARKOUDILAS TRAIL Mountain Running Race on Sunday 29 November 2020.
The race is held in co-organization with the MUNICIPALITY OF SOUTH KERKYRA and in collaboration with T.E. S.E.G.A.S. CORFU at Kavo Lefkimmi.
The announcement includes the following conditions:
1. Race Information
- Name: 3rd Arkoudilas Trail, 19 km, 9 km and 1,000 meters.
- Date and time of the event: Sunday 29 November 2020 at 10:00 a.m.

Respecting the protocol of holding races in open spaces, we will assess the current situation and on Monday 23/11/2020 WE WILL UPDATE electronically (website: www.southcorfurunners.com) about the conduct of the race and every detail about the participants and their obligations.
2. Routes Categories
The route that the athletes have to cover is: paths 45%, dirt road 43%, and asphalt 12%.
There will be electronic timing as well as control at checkpoints along the route to ensure the validity of the results. Anyone who does not pass them is disqualified.
- 1st route race ARKOUDILAS TRAIL 22 km 1000+
- Start: 10:00 a.m. from Kavos Lefkimmi.
- The runners will run in the direction of Arkoudilas Monastery, towards Arkoudilas Beach, Kanoula, Spartera, Moschopoulos Lake and back to Kavos.
- Finish: in Kavos.
- 2nd route race MONASTERY RUN 10 km 400+
- Start: 10:30 a.m. from Kavos Lefkimmi.
- The runners will run in the direction of Arkoudilas Monastery, around Moschopoulos Lake and back to Kavos.
- Finish: in Kavos.
- 3rd competition route ARKOUDILAS JUNIOR 1000m.
- Start: time 11:00 am from Kavos.
- The schoolgirls will run around the village of Kokinia Kavos.
- Finish: in Kavos.
Depending on the entries, the start will be in blocks (WAVE START). Runners are divided into blocks, each of which will include a maximum of 70 people. Therefore, in each block, the rule of physical distance of 1.5 m between each runner will be observed, in horizontal and vertical direction, that is, each runner corresponds to approximately 2.5 square meters.
At the starting block, a separate start will be given for each row of runners, with a time distance such that the runners of the preceding row have traveled a sufficient distance of approximately 6m. – 8 m. before the next one starts.
The participants in each block and in each series are determined in advance by name by the secretariat and in absolute order based on the number of the athlete and must not be changed for reasons of possible tracking.
It is recommended that all participating runners wear a protective mask until their start, i.e. until they take their place at the special fixed position indicators that should be provided for at least 2 blocks before the starting line.
For the disposal of the masks, there will be trash cans at appropriate points in the starting blocks.
Running runners in groups with distances shorter than those mentioned (1.5m) should be avoided. Also runners must run wearing a jersey, which under no circumstances may be removed before, during or at the finish.
3. Participation Rights
There will be a check at points along the route to ensure the validity of the results. Anyone who does not pass them is disqualified.
- Category Α. In the 19km route, all sportsmen and women born in 2002 and older have the right to participate with a participation fee of €15. There will be electronic timing of the race and also Buff will be given.
- Category Β. In the 9km route, all sportsmen and women born in 2005 and older have the right to participate with a participation fee of €10. There will be electronic timing of the race and also Buff will be given. The parents and guardians of the participants in the 9km route must submit a Responsible Declaration of a Minor Athlete.
- Category C. In the 1000m route, students and athletes of the B – C’ – D’ – V’ – VI grades of Primary Schools have the right to participate and participation is free. The parents and guardians of the participants in the 1,000m course must submit a Responsible Declaration of a Minor Athlete.
4. Awards – Prizes
The first three (3) athletes (first three men and first three women) in each route are declared winners.
- Prizes will be awarded to the three winners.
- To all athletes 9km, 19km, 1000m. who will finish, will be given (untouchable) a medal of the organization for their participation in the race. The awarding ceremony to the first winners will be carried out respecting the distance specifications and after the athletes and awarders disinfect their hands with an antiseptic solution provided to them without hugs.
The three winners of the 3rd ARKOUDILAS TRAIL of the following categories (separately for men and women) will be given a special distinction.
The (3) first three winners of the General Classification are EXCLUDED from the awards in the following categories.

5. Registrations – Declarations of Participation 9km & 19km
The registrations for the “3rd ARKOUDILAS TRAIL” for the distance of 9 and 19 km will be done with the following procedures:

To be considered valid, a participant’s registration must:
- The exact amount of the participation must be paid no later than 3 days after submitting the application.
- The name of the participant, his mobile phone number and the race of his choice should be written in the justification of the deposit receipt.

ATTENTION: registrations that will take place after Sunday, November 22, 2020, if they are available, will not have their full name written on the bib number and will be strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.
1000 meters: Individual Participation
Parents and guardians of students in the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grades of Primary Schools, for the 1,000m route, can register and submit a Responsible Declaration of a Minor Athlete at the registration points to be announced.
They must ensure the timely presence of the children at the start of the race and must also be at the finish line where they will pick up their children after the race ends.
CAUTION! On the day of the match and one hour before ALL the participants in the match must complete and sign the “Athlete Registration Form“.
In the service area, the vital operating areas of the service volunteers – who will wear a mask – should have a distance of at least 1.5m to the right and left and at least 6m when they are placed opposite.
Runners’ waiting lines strictly follow the 1.5m distance rule (in all directions) between runners of each waiting line and between runners of different waiting lines.
It is recommended that runners/visitors wear a protective mask during their stay at the registration area.
There will be health personnel in the area, who will also be responsible for operating the isolation area in the event of a suspected case either among the volunteers or among the participating runners.
In the event that an athlete has come from a country under epidemiological surveillance due to a wide spread of the virus, he should follow the preventive measures provided by the EODY for all travelers (quarantine, test) and have properly organized his stay in the country. We did not invite athletes from another country for obvious reasons. Nevertheless, if an athlete arrives from another country, he must already have been in Greece for a proven 7 days, during which he has not presented a symptom, he must provide full details of his residence and he must avoid traveling far from the venue of the sports event.
6. Sportswear
The race organizers will be responsible for the collection and storage of the athletes’ backpacks, from where they will be collected after the race.
7. Medical Coverage – Medical Exams
The “3rd ARKOUDILAS TRAIL” is medically covered by an Ambulance, medical and nursing staff, volunteer groups, as well as volunteer rescuers who will provide first aid and who will receive everything necessary for the safety of the participating athletes, who will be at the Start/ Finishing, as well as on the race route.
In any case, however, all competitors participate at their own sole responsibility.
The organizers are not responsible for health issues that may arise during the race due to a lack of preventive medical control.
Medical certificates will not be requested from the organizers for any athlete, since all participants compete under their own sole responsibility.
8. Power of Competitors
During the 19km route, athletes will be provided with bottled water and isotonic drinks, at 3 stations (at 5km, 11km & 16km) from the starting point. Bottled water and isotonic drinks will also be available at the finish line.
During the 9km route, athletes will be provided with bottled water and isotonic drinks, at 1 station 5km from the starting point. Bottled water and isotonic drinks will also be available at the finish line.
9. Receipt of Numbers
There will be a relevant announcement a week before the games.
10. General Provisions for all Competitions
Regulations:
- The official regulations of S.E.G.A.S. will apply to the matches.
- Anything not provided for in the announcement will be regulated by the organizers.
- The Organizers have the right to cancel the Competition, to modify the Competition Schedule, to terminate it prematurely, to shorten or extend the duration of the Competition, to postpone the start of the competition and the notification of the Winners, to modify the these Terms (including changing the Prizes and the number of Winners), without prior notice.
The effective date of this revocation-amendment is the date of the relevant posting on the Organizers’ Page.
Participants are solely responsible for informing themselves of the above changes through the Organizers’ Page.
In any of the above cases, the Organizers bear no responsibility towards the participants or any third party.
In the event of revocation, cancellation, interruption, extension, rescheduling, etc. of the Competition, the participants do not acquire any right against the Organizers nor are they entitled or entitled to request the realization or continuation of the competition or any compensation.
