M.K.E. South Corfu runners, SOUTH CORFU RUNNERS organizes the 1st LEFKIMMI RUN road race on Sunday 20 March 2022.
The announcement includes the following conditions:
1. Competition Details
- Name: 1st Lefkimmi Run, 10km, 5km and 1,400m children’s race
- Date and Time: Sunday, March 20, 2023 at 10:30 am.

Respecting the protocol of holding races in open spaces, we will assess the current situation and on Tuesday 15/03/2022 WE WILL UPDATE electronically (website www.southcorfurunners.com) about the conduct of the race and every detail about the participants and their obligations.
2. Categories of Routes
The route that the athletes have to cover is entirely asphalted, flat and with a minimal height difference.
- There will be a check at points along the route to ensure the validity of the results. Anyone who does not pass them is disqualified.
- Category A – Route 5 km.
- Start: 11:00 am from the Lefkimmi RIVER
- The runners will run passing through the settlements of Agioi Theodoros and Ringlados where after the pharmacy they turn left onto Irinis Dendrinou Street and at the end of the street turn left where they reach the primary school and through the main street and the settlements of Ringglados and Agioi Theodoros they reach the finish line.
- Finish: at the RIVER.
- Category Β – Route 10 km
- Start: time 11:30 am from the Lefkimmi RIVER
- The runners will run on the main street passing through the settlements of Agios Theodoros and Ringlados where at the traffic lights they will turn right and at the intersection of “Dimitra Super Market” they will turn around and in the middle of the peripheral road they will reach the port gate of Lefkimmi where again turning around and settlement of Melikia reach the finish line.
- Finish: at the RIVER.
- Category C – Route 1,400 meters, children’s.
- Start: 11:45 am from the River
- The students will run towards the settlement of Agioi Theodoros, turn left towards the Lefkimmi High School and return through the settlement of Agioi Theodoros.
- Finish: RIVER
3. Participation Rights
Category Α.In the 10 km route, all sportsmen and women born in 2004 and older have the right to participate with a participation fee of €10. There will be manual timing.
All participants in the 10 km route must submit Responsible Declaration of an Adult Athlete.Responsible Declaration of an Adult Athlete.
Category B. In the 5 km route, all sportsmen and women born in 2009 and older have the right to participate with a participation fee of €5. There will be manual timing.
All participants in the 5 km route must submit a Responsible Adult Athlete Declaration.
Parents and guardians of minors participating in the 5km route must submit a Minor Athlete Responsible Declaration.
Category C. In the 1400m route, students and athletes of the 2nd – 3rd – 4th – 5th – 6th grades of Primary Schools have the right to participate and participation is free.
The parents and guardians of the participants in the 1,400 m course must submit a Responsible Declaration of a Minor Athlete.
4. Awards – Prizes
The first three (3) athletes (first three men and first three women) in each route are declared winners.
- Prizes will be awarded to the three winners.
- All 5 km, 10 km athletes who will participate will be given a technical t-shirt of the event.
- To all athletes 5 km, 10 km, 1,400 m. who will finish, will be given a medal of the organization for their participation in the race.
The three winners of the 1st LEFKIMMI RUN of the following categories (separately for men and women) will be given a special distinction.
The (3) first three winners of the General Classification are EXCLUDED from the awards in the following categories.

5. Registrations – Declarations of Participation
The registrations for the “1st LEFKIMMI RUN” for the distances of 5km, 10km. and 1,400m. children’s will take place until Tuesday, MARCH 13, 2022, with the following procedure.

To be considered valid a participant’s registration must:
- The exact amount of the participation must be paid no later than 3 days after submitting the application.
- The name of the participant, his mobile phone number and the race of his choice should be written in the justification of the deposit receipt.
1400m: Individual Participation
The parents and guardians of students of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grades of Primary Schools, for the 1,400m route. they can register their participation and submit a Responsible Declaration of a Minor Athlete.
WE DO NOT DO LIFETIME REGISTRATIONS, ALL REGISTRATIONS ARE ONLINE ON PAGE WWW.SOUTHCORFURUNNERS.COM until Tuesday 13/03/23, there will be no registrations at the start area.
6. Sportswear
There will be no storage of athletes’ backpacks due to necessary health measures.
7. Medical Coverage – Medical Exams
The “1st LEFKIMMI RUN” is medically covered by an Ambulance, medical and nursing staff, volunteer groups, as well as volunteer rescuers who will provide first aid and who will receive everything necessary for the safety of the participating athletes, who will be at the Start/ Finishing, as well as on the race route.
In any case, however, all competitors participate at their own sole responsibility.
The organizers are not responsible for health issues that may arise during the race due to a lack of preventive medical control.
8. Power of Competitors
During the 10 km course, athletes will be provided with bottled water at 3 stations (at 2 km, 5 km & 8 km) from the starting point. Bottled water will also be available at the finish line.
During the 5 km route, athletes will be provided with bottled water at 2 stations at 2 km and 4 km from the starting point. Bottled water will also be available at the finish line.
9. Receipt of Numbers
There will be a relevant announcement before the games.
10. General Provisions for all Competitions
Regulations:
- The official regulations of S.E.G.A.S. will apply to the matches.
- Anything not provided for in the announcement will be regulated by the organizers.
- The Organizers have the right to cancel the Competition, to modify the Competition Schedule, to terminate it prematurely, to shorten or extend the duration of the Competition, to postpone the start of the competition and the notification of the Winners, to modify the these Terms (including changing the Prizes and the number of Winners), without prior notice.
The effective date of this revocation-amendment is the date of the relevant posting on the Organizers’ Page.
Participants are solely responsible for informing themselves of the above changes through the Organizers’ Page.
In any of the above cases, the Organizers bear no responsibility towards the participants or any third party.
In the event of revocation, cancellation, interruption, extension, rescheduling, etc. of the Competition, the participants do not acquire any right against the Organizers nor are they entitled or entitled to request the realization or continuation of the competition or any compensation.
